Cancer (solid tumors): An Ivy Invasion of my Garden

Description

In Cancer (solid tumors): An Ivy Invasion of my Garden, a young girl explains to readers what cancer is and how we fight cancer. In order to help patients as well as their families and friends understand cancer, the story uses an analogy, describing cancer as an invasive ivy plant and our bodies as magnificent gardens. Ivy can grow and spread in our gardens just as cancer can grow and spread in our bodies. Through easy to understand language and vibrant illustration to improve understanding and reduce fear, the story walks readers through the possible treatment options as well.

To help supplement conversations with doctors, answers to common questions and other important information is included in a ‘Facts and Doctor’s Words’ section at the end of the book. There you will find a helpful glossary with relevant medical terms explained in plain language and a page to take notes for your own experience if applicable.

Science and colorful illustration come together in Cancer (solid tumors): An Ivy Invasion of my Garden to not only empower patients and their families but also educate and inspire kids who are curious about the fascinating world of medicine.
